Hi Beryl I had also previously seen Judah as a female and thought that it may be my missing Judah. The birth cert is for Bromley, Poplar and the family lived in Ida street Bromley in the census. Being a 'foreigner' not sure of how close Poplar and Spittalfields are. I will get the map book out. Thanks, Tracy |

Tracy, There is a Judah Alexander on the 1881 listed as female. Could there have been some confusion with the name on the original census return? There are lots of errors. This Judah is 31 and shown as the 'daughter' of Henry Alexander and his wife Hannah. The child born 1884 may have been named after her grandmother? Shot in the dark maybe but might be worth a look. The family are in Spitalfields, Middlesex. Regards, Beryl. |

I have a birth certificate for Hannah Emma Alexander in 1884 naming a Judah Alexander as the father. However I am unable to find him on either the 1881,1891 or 1901 census. I am able to find the mother and child (Susannah Wickers and Hannah Emma Alexander) on the 1881 and 1891 census. I have found a marriage for a Judah Woolf Alexander in freebmd but the female spouses do not match. Does anyone have any idea where I can go from here. Thank you Tracy |
