Hi, My great grandmother was born Elizabeth Parkinson c1900. Before she married she fell pregnant to an American. He may have been a soldier stationed here during the war, as the baby was born c1918. He was named Ernest. Ernest then moved to America. No one know whether he was adopted or moved there with his father. Where would the best place be to find information on either Ernest or his father? Thanks, Emma. |

Have you tried the Family Record Centre in London, or the General Record office in Southport? |

No Marilyn i hadn't. I'm new to this, and hadnt even heard of them. Is it possible to contact them to find the information via the internet, or does it require a visit? Thanks for the reply. Emma. |
