Hi, Hope this will be of some help. Trying to trace family records in N.Yorkshire, I rang the local library, very helpful. I wrote with all the details that I had. My relatives were in the 1861 census records for Co.Durham. The records are apparently available through Durham County Records Office, County Hall, Durham, DH1 5UL. Tel: 0191 383 4500 OR Durham Clayport Library, Reference & Local Studies Dept., Millenium Place, Durham City, DH1 1WQ. Tel 0191 386 4003. Hope your succesful! Annemarie Burgess |

I dont know of on line-acess but you should be able to make a trip to the Family Record Centre in Mydleton St, London. You can see all the census returns from 1841 for the whole country there, alternatively Durham CC archive service are very good and would copy the entry for a reasonable charge so long as you have a name and address. |

Hi. Can somebody out there help me? I am trying to find relations in Durham on the 1861 census. Living in Essex can't get up to Durham. Is there any sites? I would be very grateful for any info. Regards Mary |
