Hi, I`m looking for my great grandparents in order to trace back beyond them. I have their names and the names of their 8 children and have found my G.Grandfather on the 1881 census.Their children were born in the 80s and 90s and they lived in England I`m sure.I cant find any of them on the 1901 census.Any ideas of where I can look next ?.I`m asuming they were on holiday! Thanks, Jennie |

Jennifer If you write their names, there would be a lot of people that would look on the 1901 census, because sometimes you can miss things yourself, try all different combinations. if it`s a unusual surname just put females and then try males. Debbie |

Jennie Think I've found them! Just had a look, and they appear to be under the name of Walkman. Give that a try. Good Luck Janet. Northamptonshire |

Janet, Thankyou!. You were right, the whole family was under "Walkman" which I would never thought to look under. The writing on the original document made it look like that ! I really appreciate your help . Now I have to find a way to trace my G.Grandfathers parents as in the 1881 census he was living with his aunt and uncle and even had their surname as his middle name.I`m guessing they brought him up. Anyway, thats for another day ! Thanks again, Jennie |

Hi jennifer,I am also having trouble locating my great grandparents on the 1901 census. Their names were william edward dugdale and eliza eleanor dugdale. in Feb of 1901 they lived in Churchill st liverpool and in 1903 in Wesley St liverpool. I have looked at both of these addresses and nothing. Don't know where else to look now. Can any one help? |

Alison Do you know how old they would have been at the time of the 1901 census? Do you know the names of their children? It all helps. Do you know your G.Grandfather's occupation? Janet. Northamptonshire |

Hi janet, William would have been about 27 and Eliza 25 years - william was a hatter and hosier. They will have only had the one child in 1901 Robert Thomas William who was about 2 or 3 months (he was born on jan 8th 1901). Can't imagine where they would have been unless they did not fill in their census form or were not in their house (although it appears another family were living at the address in churchill street and wesley street at that time) alison |
