Yes, I have been there once, it is very near the FRC, (and they have an information sheet there about what they hold and how to get there). It has lots of useful London records and the staff were lovely and ever so helpful and friendly and found what I wnated for me, even though I had only the vaguest clue how to find what I was looking for. Has anyone heard of or used The London Metropolitan Archives. I have just stumbled across them. They have records for the London area, and you can search their database to see what they hold (some parish, electoral registers and school/institution records etc) They are quite near to the FRC (well it looks like that on the map!) They will do look ups/ searches for you - a bit pricey at £35 per hour - but might be worth it for the brick wall especally if you, live a long way out from London. Chris |
