Can anyone suggest how I go about finding how my grandfather was registered at birth as Foster, but when married was called Bowyer? His mother did not re-marry. I'm at brick wall as to how there was this name change. He is also shown on my father's marriage cert as Bowyer. |

Gaby, I had the same problem, it turned out, after getting my great uncles birth certificate, that he had no father so was registered under my gtNana's maiden name, but she married 2 years after he was born, so on his marriage cert he has written her husband, why did they do this as I've come to a dead end, but hopefully someone can point us in the right direction.
