If a female has been married before, how are the names best entered in GenesConnected? I have put the birth surname in the the Surname part and the previous married name in the 'alternative surname' part. Is this correct? Can the seach tools search on the 'alternative surname' part? Rgds. Jason Ward. |

Jason, You will have to add these as more partners to the person. If you don't have all the details put 'unknown' for name. Elisabeth |

With most family tree programs you can enter AKA's so they appear in the index under each name. I would suggest you enter them a second time under the other name - I have two children born in the 1700's as this was the only way to record in GC someone with an unknown relationship to me. Martin |
