As I thought, i can't demonstrate it I type first "<http> <www> <ancestry> <co> <uk> then some more text here" Without the brackets and with full stops. Martin

Might be a bit difficult to demonstrate on here! I typed "http://www.ancestry.co.uk then some more text here" It appeared as "http://www.ancestry more text here" or something like that. (Truncated = shortened) Martin

Hi Martin, For a computer illiterate like me..what exactly is a truncated URL? Beryl Darlington DUR

This started out with the message title "URL's in messages" I updated the message and it is now just "URL"? I think the blank lines are removed when you update a message. Probably the message title is corrupted at the time. Martin

I thought that Genes Connected had stopped the annoying practice of truncating any URL's quoted in messages? I was just trying to quote a URL in a message and as well as the URL being truncated, the text immediately after was truncated. I tried various ways around the problem and eventually managed to quote the URL. Is this deliberate policy of Genes Connected or a bug in the system? Also blank lines seem to being removed - are the spaces between words the next to go? This message originally had paragraphs with blank lines between. Martin
