I have found this as a place of birth of a relative on the 1891 census. Any ideas where it might be - or even what it might be as I realise it may be an error. Help !!!!!! |

Virginia, Have you any idea where the family were either in 1881 or 1901? The place is probably Llan........ something or other, and we have plenty of those in this part of the world! Jill Oswestry, Shropshire. |

Could it be Langley, Llanfair or LLansilin? |

Llanyblodwel, Llanymynech, Llandrinio?? Places like Llansantffraid, Llangedwyn, Llanrhaeadr-ym Mochnant etc all used to have to register births in Shropshire. I wonder whether this is the problem. If you have enough info to send for the birth certificate, that would probably be your best bet. How old was he in 1891? Is it likely that his parents were in Shropshire in 1881? |
