I have just tried the site and it says 7 days for me. I live in Sale, Cheshire. I think I will try it from work tomorrow and see if there is any difference (that's in Manchester). Can't wait! Lynne |

Hallo again- have managed eventually to access the site- kept getting sent to freereg, not freecen, for some reason - I think it must be silver surfer discrimination - however- have an 11 hour wait here! Rosi, Colchester Ess PS one of the NOB set. (Not On Broadband) |

Rosi I typed in the http address this morning and it told me I would get it in about 4 hours, then it told me an hour at midday and then I managed to actually access it about 30 mins ago. Kim |

Hi - is freecen.rootsweb the same site as freereg.rootsweb as on the 'links'? It seems to be but the page I get still shows the search facility as being non functioning and as far as I can find no date predicted. What am I missing? Rosi |

I think Freecen is reading the IP addresses and locations from our machines and filtering access based on this. If I use anonymous browsing software I can get the date to change. Best I've got so far is 14 hours. Will keep trying to see if I can do better. |

I clicked on "Search the database" and it said it would be 48 days. Didn't even ask me for a county. |

The site http (://) freecen (.) rootsweb (.)com run by the same people as freebmd seems to be searchable now in some areas. As far as i can make out it is going to be like freebmd but covering the census from 1841 till 1891. I tried to search but it said it would not be available in my area for 3 days. From what I read on the site it will be the 1891 census that will be available first. If someone manages to get onto the search engine could they let me know what it is like please. Susan |
