I have just joined up for the free 14 day trial on Ancestry.com for the 1891 census info but even though it says it has info from 1837 - 1900, there is no mention of births for members in my tree, even though I have found marriages for them so I know they definitely were born!! Where do I go from here? |

Andrea I haven't tried the 1891 census on Ancestry so don't know what records are included (beside the census of course). Have you tried FreeBMD, Familysearch and 1837online for your birth records? If you know the year try 1837 first as it gives all records from 1837 to somewhere in the 1970's. They are all accessible from the links on this site. Good luck. Lynne Sale CHS |

To Susan Davis No, you are not daft!! I was born on Boxing Day and couldn't find myself on 1837online. Then I decided to look on the Jan-Mar of the following year - and there I was. Maybe hubby's g.gramps was born on a similar date. Maybe our 'rellies' were too full of festive cheer to get to the Registrar's before the New Year! Hazel Dalgety Bay |

Thanks all. I have just tried the 1837 online but it says the service is temporarily unavailable. I will have a go later and hope I can find the births on there. |

dont forget the dates listed are often the dates that people were registered not actual birth dates, on the 1837. Ihave torn my hair out looking for people dont give up they often suddenly appear, some have had slightly! differant spellings good luck sandra |

Susan If you have found the record on FreeBMD then you don't need to find it on 1837 as you will have the district and Ref No. to apply for the certificate. Lynne |
