I have the death and marriage certificates for my grandfather.Ihave him lodging with my greatgrandmother on the 1891 census, on the 1881 census he was lodging with a couple in Derbyshire,his birthplace was given as Sudbrook,Lincoln.After searching BMD, Family Search etc. for over 12 months, I decided to apply to the GRO Southport, this morning came the dreaded reply,their search was unsuccessful. Has anyone any suggestions how I can search records for Lincoln? June, Preston,Lan.

The GRO are not infalable, I went to the local archives found details of some of my relatives on the fiche sent the forms off to get the certs and was told they couldnt find them.Resent the details ,exactly the same and the certs came back(they had taken the search fee when they couldnt find it)

if you go to a search engine and ask for county records lincoln the right webb address should come up for you.failing that you could write to linoln county archives St Rumbolds Street lincoln. Hope this helps, Sue.
