Hi Andrea It's my understanding that the district and page numbers have to be the same for it to be a 'couple'. It seems that you have found someone with the same name who coincidentally got married in the same year and quarter as your ancestor. |

I have spent the last couple of days using the 1837 site and finally found two people on the same year and same quarter (I was looking for a wedding date) BUT the district and page number for the two people are different!! As a transcriber for FreeBMD, I always thought that the district was where the event happened and the page number was the page number for the register - am I wrong? If I am right, why are they different in this case? Surely it is too much of a coincidence to have the right names but be completely different people to who I am after? Can anyone give any clues? Please!! |
