Susan, Thank you very much for the offer, but there is nothing on the 1881 census for my family that I know of. My grand mother is causing me real headaches, as apparently, she doesn't exist! so I don't know her mothers name and her father came from Ireland! Yeh...a brick wall, as they say! What I really wanted to try and do was find a marriage between Thomas McHugh and Mary ? abt 1897/8. Kim |

There isnt a free bmd site for Scotland but you can search the parish registers for free at www (.) scotsorigins (.)com. These cover the years 1553-1875. hope this helps. Susan |
