Terry, I see the road on the 1901 census address search. Type in Bottesford Lane for the Street and Bottesford for the Place Keyword. Don't put in the county as half the addresses are in Lincolnshire and the other half are in Leicestershire. Crista

Many thanks for getting back to me. I think Crista has got it right. On the 1891 census the address is given as 160 Bollesford Lane, Bromby, Ashley, Lincs. I still don't understand why I can't get it on street search on the 1901 site

Terry, Which town or village is this road in? There's a Bottesford Lane In Bottesford, just outide Scunthorpe. Go to Multimap and type in DN16 3QW to see. I get 9 entries for this in 1901 in the civil parishes of Ashby and Holme. Type in Bottesford Lane for the Street and Bottesford for the Place Keyword Crista

terence, Just one small point about that part of Lincolnshire - it often appears just as Kesteven or Kesteven Lincs. (Many parts of Lincolnshire are like that - Lindsey, Holland etc.) Elisabeth

I have tried all ways to find an address on the 1901 site, such as leaving off road, using wildcards etc. No luck. Maybe I'm doing it wrong so would someone kindly have a go at finding Bollesford (or possibly Bottesford) Lane In Lincolnshire and see if they get any joy. Many thanks Terry
