How is it possible to find out if an IGI is correct? I have a Gt Grandad born 1830(c) there are the same names for 4 other same surnames, which I doubt, and the likely one says he died age 6 Is it possible a transcriber got it wrong? JOAN |

Not everything on IGI is transcribed from a parish register, but if it gives full dates for the christening and the death, then the odds are it's the wrong person. Name coincidences are common, as people were very unimaginative with Christian names then |
