Robin, I was thinking about buying the cd's for WRY from Stepping Stones - are they not worth getting? A lot of my family are from this county and i was hoping they'd give me a bit of info! Tracey, Bolton

But beware, I got the 1841 for WRY from Stepping Stones and chunks of it aren't legible. The other thing to do is to check the relevant Family History society to see if they offer any indexes or search services. Cambridgeshire FHS for instance have an online index for the 1841 (only for Cambridgeshire!)

The other possibility is to find him in the 1841 census: being still single he may well be living with his parents

When you find a record at freebmd there is a link to where you can print of a form to apply for the certificate. You would get their fathers names off the marriage certificate.

Could I have some help please I have managed to find John Dawson born1819 Heighington Lincs, he married Sarah Ferraby in 1845, in Caistor Lincolnshire, but I don't know where I look now to find who is parents were, what site could possibly tell me that, also could you tell me where I can print a form out for a marriage certificate, I found it once when I didn't need one Many thanks.. Sue... didn;'t want it
