Thanks Andrea! I have had a look at the site, but I think that this is a complete software package and I would need to start all over again (correct me if I am wrong). I am quite happy with PAF at the moment - except for my one little bugbear, and I will probably upgrade shortly now that my names span over several pages and different lines. But thankyou for thinking of me and I am sure that the tip will come in useful for somebody anyway! Cheers! Sally, Coventry |

Sally A few days ago (or maybe more) I posted a message asking where I could print my tree out and was sent the following web link. It is a programme to download and I had a quick look at the site and it seems to suggest that you can print off your tree when you have downloaded the programme - for free. The address is www(dot)genopro(dot)com (slash)free (slash) I haven't downloaded it as yet cos I am in the process of changing my PC over and want to copy everything from this one to go on the new one, so I will wait until then - so I can't vouch for the programme, I am just passing on the info. If you try it and it works, let us all know! Hope this helps. |

If you just want something basic to get you started, try the free PAF downloads on the LDS (familysearch) website. I've been using it for the past few months and find it quite easy to use. You can always buy software at a later date if you want something more advanced. Gedcom is the format that can be read by almost all family tree software, so we can all send files to each other, import data from others, etc. whatever software we use. |

I have used Family Tree Maker as well, but the better program is Family Historian, which you can get for £46.95 from www.backtoroots.co.uk (01453 821300) It's UK software and very user friendly. |

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good tree software program? And what would I call it if I were searching, say, CNet for one? Geneology software? Thank you! Oh, is Gedcom about the only database program anyone uses? |
