Marriage licence pre 1837

Alison, I managed to get a copy of my gggggrandparents marriage from 1793, but I had to go to the Records Office in Durham, but it was definately worth the trip to be able to get a copy. Kim Sandhurst Berks

Alison If you know where he was married you will be able to look at either the copies of the parish records or the actual records themselves at the nearest Library to where he lived. Probably best to check with the Library first. Jane - Leeds

Does anyone where you can find details of licences pre 1837. I know my ancestor was married by licence 1n 1762 but dont know where these records are kept. Help please.
