I'm afraid I've had no luck finding Caroline anywhere, but then again I know for a fact that Ancestry.com isn't as complete as it would like you to think!!!! Eventually found Thomas & Ann (Ann's county of birth wasn't transcribed so it took longer than it should have!), so Caroline definitely wasn't living with them then. If you email me I can send you the jpeg of their entry. Ruth |

I am trying to find out where Caroline Attwood (born Wellington, Shropshire 1819) was in 1891. I had previously believed she was born, lived and died in Shropshire. I have recently discovered a daughter of hers (married name Ann Stokes)moved to Yorkshire (parish of Bradfield, Stocksbridge/Bolsterstone area on 1881 Census). I have now found a Death on BMD for Caroline Attwood in Wortley (registration area for Bradfield)in 1893 aged 73, and am now thinking Caroline may have moved to Yorkshire after her husband died and was living with/near Ann in 1891. Is there anyone out there with access to 1891 Census who would be kind enough to check for me please? Ann married Thomas Stokes who was a 'house painter'and they would both have been around 41 years old in 1891. Thomas was also born in Shropshire. Thanks, Helen Smith (nee Attwood) |
