Kathleen, I have contacted the Catholic Central Library as they do indeed hold the burial records for Moorfields (which was a Catholic Mission), and for elsewhere in the Country. So for anyone having difficulty tracing pre-1837 Catholic ancestors' bmd records, this is a good website to start. Thanks again Kathleen!

Hi Kathleen, I am looking for the Catholic burial records of St Marys Catholic Chapel which was in Moorfields, Middlesex (now London). I believe the chapel was destroyed or pulled down several times and rebuilt elsewhere.

Does anyone know of a site for Catholic burial records which would cover 1833?? Was there a lot of anti-Catholic feeling in the early 19th century, because I am told it was not an option to be married or christened in a Catholic chapel, but a burial would have been permitted? Kathy
