Christine The Censuses were started in 1801 and every 10 years after, but were only numerical, individual names were not required. The first census with names was the 1841 which only mentions the names, ages and whether born in that county (answer Yes or No, no actual county named) and some addresses. Mostly written in pencil and hard to read in some cases. Vera Manchester LAN

hi, anyone got 1831 census? if there is one ?looking for stephen rouse,little compton/warwickshire,born about 1825.
