Hi Is 1837 online any better than FreeBMD, or LDS or any of the other free sites? Paul |

Hi Paul It only provides Vol/page + Reg. District details of Cert.(BMD)from names listing ,useful to then get Certif from GRO. Just another tool.. costs £5 for 55 views of lists. |

if your looking for a popular name it can get expensive you would be better on ancestry as bmd is free and you don't need to sign up for their free trial you only get vol and page but then you have a start |

Paul 1837 site is the complete index whereas FreeBMD is still indexing and updating (and will be for a long time to come) so that it can be searched online. The LDS is by no means a 100% coverage either. If you're looking for an event after 1837, then the only guaranteed site which will have the information you want is the 1837 one. Graham |
