I have been trying to find my greatgrandparents,l have their marriage certificate, they were married 20/8/71.St.Nicholas church Brighton.but they do not appear on the 1881 census.Their names were James Goble born 1851.Brighton.and Mary Jeffery.born 1850. My grandfather Thomas Goble, was born 1884.Brighton. The address for James and Mary at time of marriage, was 15.Nelson Street.Brighton.James was a bricklayer.and His Father was also James. Mary's father was Richard Jeffery, fisherman.l can find nothing on them between the time they got married till my grandfather was born. regards Sheila |

Sheila, have you seen the 1881 entry for James Goble age 29, with wife Mary, and a son aged 6 which would tie in with your marriage date? They are in Lancing, Sussex and James is described at a gardener, Marian |
