Any help ,l am trying to search the name Cork,around 1845/1881,1881 would be in the Brighton area Sussex, but all l get is County Cork,Ireland. any tips. Regards Sheila |

Hello Sheila, I have also been researching Corks from somewhere around/nr the Brighton/Sussex area, they are very hard to find,(nearly gave up) Try the freebmd website and just put in the surname and make sure you click on at least a particular district and either births, marriages and deaths, don't click on 'all types' of bmd as this will not show any pages at all, although you can click on 'all disctricts' etc, but this will take awhile, tick the 'Phonetic search surnames' box. You will get alot of other names pop up but search through them they are there, although with this website you already need to know a bit of info but did prove of some use to me. Hope all this helps!
