If you cant find a family on the 1881 census but know where they lived after that date try typing in the address on a search engine. When I tried this (as a last resort!) It came back for a hit on a genealogy website for a person who lived 2 doors away. I looked him up on the 1881 and then clicked on next household a couple of times and there was the family I had been trying to find the surname was totally wrong (Kurd instead of Clilverd) but all the details and children matched along with a few extra children that I have been trying to fit into a family for months. Just goes to show you have to think round corners in this lark:) |
