Has anyone access to the 1851 Hertford census? I have been to the Herts Records Office to look for my great grandfather's birth, Alfred Worboys (or Warboys) who was aged 33 on the 1881 census and 42 on the 1891 census, therefore born around 1848 and shown as born in Hertford, Hertford in each case. His father, from Alfred's marriage certificate, was Thomas Warboys. I think Alfred probably had a sister born 1852 since I found a baptism record with the same father's name for that date. There seems to be a Thomas William Worboys around who was married in 1841 and had children on and off for the next 20 years, but I am of the belief at the moment that this was a different person as he always comes up on records with the "William" included, whereas my one never seems to use the middle name, although I could be proved wrong. I have been through 1837 online and failed to find an Alfred born in 1847/1848 in Hertford, the only one I found was in Hitchen, so the 1851 census seems the next step, I had a quick look when over there but it's going to be a month or so before I can get across to Hertford again. Any help or suggestions most gratefully received.
