SKS belonging to Aysgarth Church made transcriptions of the headstones in Aysgarth Churchyard. Inside the church, there are several typewritten copies of the transcriptions with alphabetical index. Since my visit there in May this year,I have discovered that my ggggrandmother married for a second time. Is there anyone who is able to check the transcription lists for a certain John Edwin Knowles. He was 25 on the 1881 Census, living in West Burton. stone-mason. He cannot be found on the 1891 census, nor can he be found on freebmd, 1837 or LDS as having passed away. But on my ggggrandmother's death cert.(in 1898) she was described as being the widow of this man. any info. thankfully received. Hazel Fife, Scotland |
