Andy, thank you very much for taking the trouble to look up for me. Seems a bit unlikely, she was a 34 year old draper in 1881, but definitely worth investigating particularly given the interesting sounding location! Many thanks. |

There seems to be only one Clara Sheppard that fits your criteria - I've tried spelling variations on Sheppard; Clara Sheppard, aged 42, born Middlesex Hampstead. She's appears to be an 'Honorary Assistant' at a place called "The Preventive Home", Royal Fort Road, Bristol. There are several children of varying ages living there, so it could be a boarding school although the name suggests some kind of young offenders place! Does this seem remotely relevant at all?
