Andy, brilliant! Thank you for taking so much trouble to decipher the very best attempts of the transcriber to confuse. George has changed his age so wildly between 1881 and 1901 I'm not sure if he is brother or uncle! |

Hi Vanessa, After hunting for Clara Sheppard, this one looks like a definite match, even though the surname was indexed as Hookham (it's clearly Hockham on the image)! Anne M.Hockham, Daughter, 16, Sussex Selmeston Jane Hockham, Wife, 51, Sussex Pevensey John Hockham, Head, 42, Sussex Selmeston, Agricultural Labourer Residing at Coney Hall, Selmeston You will be interested to know that there's also a George Hockham, aged 60 living at Fairfield Cottage, Selmeston. He's listed as an Agricultural Labourer and is living on his own. Might he be an uncle or father of John? Andy. |
