Hi Emily Do you have your mother's birth certificate? If not you can find the reference on 1837 online (see the links page on the left). You will have to buy £5 worth of units, but you will get a GRO reference, which you can then use to get her certificate, which should cost £7. I do not know what era you are talking about, but once you have the birthcertificate, it may help trace back to the 1901 census. Sorry I have no knowledge abou adpotion procedures, but I'm sure someone else will come up with some help on that. Regards Maxine |

My mother was adopted and we are trying to find out about any family we may have remaining. All we have is a baptism certificate from 1946... Could anyone help me with where to start?? |
