Helen, It's just north of Ashton-Under-Lyne. Go to www.multimap(.)com and type in Hurst. Crista |

Has anyone heard of a place called Hurst in the Manchester area? The gazetteer site says it exists but my UK road atlas isn't being very helpful. The family in question were living in Ashton-under-Lyne in 1901 and a son was born year before in Hurst, so I guess it's probably in that area. |
