I am trying to find a baptism record for my 4x great grandfather. According to the 1841 and 51 census returns he was born in colne lancashire. However have not had any luck in st bartholomews. Can anyone point me in another direction? alison |

Have you been to Colne library? The staff there are really helpful, and they'll look in all their records for you. I've found them to be the most knowledgeable of all the libraries I've been to, and also they have the most baptism, marriage, burial etc. records in books that you can browse through as well. |

Perhaps someone can help me too. Can the LDS centres get hold of any parish records from the UK - do you order them beforhand by phone or do you have to go in person to request and pay something? I am faced with a lot of travelling otherwise! Thanks. |
