Has anyone else come across this name? It is repeated in one of my family lines again and again. It is a boy's name, and pretty embarrassing I would think so they must have had a good reason to use it. Any suggestions? Janice |

Hi Janet, this one is derived from the roman name Marius. Found a brilliant site for looking up first names and their meanings, although couldn't actually get to the home page, but if anyone's interested this is the address http://website.lineone.net/~sascha1/name/a.htm bit of a long one, but hope it will help someone. Best of luck, Paula. |

Sorry about the link to the website. The only thing I can suggest is to put Marianus or meaning of names in your search engine and see what comes up. Hope you find something. |
