Clare In a word - Yes. If you know the area where the person lived, put in the appr. CD. When you get to the page to add the names and dates then Cancel the page. When it has cleared go to the SEARCH at the top left - click Neighbours/Advanced query on the drop down menu. Where the curser is flashing in the box type in the profession you are looking for and click OK. The name of the profession will be highlighted so use the Page Down button to scroll down the page - there could be lots of them. E.g. type in Police (which covers policeman/constable etc) and there are 3399 on the Lancashire CD. There are hints and tips on the Help pages, too. Hope this helps. Vera Manchester |

Hello Vera, every time I cancel, it says do you want to exit? Also my set does not say advanced, I have Resource viewer 2- is it too old? I am trying to search for a Michael Walsh, a stoker, born in Ireland so the story goes, his son, my gggrandad is elusive too- cant find his details, born about 1860- i thought if I could search all the stokers I might see something I recognise |
