Wonder if anybody can help! I have been lucky enough to be given an old family album. (If only they could have written their names on the back of the photos!) I have two postcards with a photo of a lady and man. They are inscribed "Visited Derby Dec. 17th 1872" and "Presented at the Derby 12th Night Fete, January 6th 1873. By John Smith Esq., Mayor" I want to find out more about the Mayor, I'm intrigued to find out if the mayor is a member of my family or just another Smith living in Derby! All my ancestors are from Belper and Derby. Any ideas? |

If you give the Derby Council a ring I'm sure they would have info on all past Mayors. Lynda |

Thanks for that Lynda, I'll give them a try tomorrow. Sam |
