You can access Canadian 1881 census on LDS. Not sure if that will help. |

Hi Rodney, I'm in Vancouver and off to the local FHS in about 1/2 hour. Let me know the details, and I'll see what I can do for you. I'll be going back there again soon as it's only about 1/2 hour drive, so let me know anyway. Diana. |

Hi Rodney, I live in Calgary, Alberta. Go to http://automatedgenealogy(.)com, the transcriptions are not fully completed yet, but you can search by province and/or name, and see the original document (no charge). Microfilms of all Canadian censuses up to 1901,are held at the main library in most towns and cities, here. It's also possible to get further information, on inter-library loan. I will be going to my library again soon, so if Diana doesn't have the opportunity to find the information you need, let me know. Patsy |

Hi Rodney, Sorry I didn't get your message until I got home last night, and I never did get to the FHS, as I spent so long at the FHC. However I will be going that way again next week so if you haven't received any info by then, I'll see what I can find out. Di. |

Hallo Rod, Have you checked WW1 records at www(.)archives(.)ca? There is a Jonas there who was born in Edinburgh and the year of birth looks as tho it would fit in with your search. I'll let you know when I get to the library (they've "lost" the 1840 census, so I'll be away to look when they find it!). Patsy |
