Thought I'd share this with everyone. There's hope for us all yet. This was on the front page of my local freebie paper. " When Nellie Richardson laid eyes on Joseph Russell at their nursing home, there was something about him she recognised. Nellie looked at the old man across the room for a few seconds. Then, in a heart stopping moment, she realised it was the brother she had not seen for more than 60 years. She goes on to say that when they were children growing up in the 20's their mother died when they were 3 & 6 and realising he couldn't cope their father put them in an orphanage. Nellie went on to be adopted by a wealthy family friend and he joined the the Royal Navy. They lost touch from her being 18. The nursing home said it's like something from a novel. How cool is that, brought tears to my eyes. Catherine |
