I think I have found my ggg grandfather in the 1881 census.James Shaw,( c 1842) living in Kingswinford, Stafford. A birth place is stated as "Lattwood" in Worcester. I can not find the place at all and have checked on the old map site etc. Does anyone have any idea what the place may be called? |

Could it be a poorly transcribed version of Ladywood? Richard |

Hello Joanne I don't think its Ladywood although the address may have been in Stafford once. Ladywood is in the very centre of Birmingham Warwickshire not near Kingswinford. |

Hi Shirley, I really don't any of the areas at all. On the 1881 census it has James Shaw living in Kingswinford, Stafford. His birth place says Lattwood, Worcester. I think his wife, born at Lye Green, Worcester and the children born in Quarry bank. Do you know if any of them areas are near? I am trying to find where I could get his birth certificate. Thanks , Jo |

Ladywood is a small hamlet between Fernhill Heath and Salwarpe, about three miles from Worcester. Mike |

Lattewood, Could it be the name of the house instead of a door number? |
