Hi Julie I found the following household on the 1851 Census in Underwood which is near Selston: George Wass - head - 38 - agricultural labourer Meday? (can't read this name) wife Emma Lovesay - daughter in law - 16 - seamstress James Wass - son 9 George Wass - son - 4 Mary Wass - daug - 3 Eliza Wass - daug - 2 Ruth Wass - daug - 10 mnth Alison |

Hi Julie I did a quick look on 1851 census which covers, Warwick, Norfolk and Devon. and could only come up with George Brooks 26 Lab Notts Phoebe Brooks 34 weaver Notts Joseph Brooks son 1 Notts Address Abbey Street Nuneaton Warwickshire. Shirley |

Keep searching Julie - hate to tell you this but I have a Brooks connection too!! She was my godmother though not related. Very distant cousin Elisabeth! |

if a kind soul has this census i'd be most grateful if you could look up the following for me! i'm looking for a James Wass who was born around 1842-1844 in Selston, Notts. also a Phoebe Brooks who i think was his wife, born around 1851 in Hucknall Tokard Notts. Hopefully this will give me their parents and i can continue my lead in this direction! Ta muchly Julie Tebb:) |
