Jacqui I can't remember the address of the Royal Artillery Bks, but next to it is a pub, The Kings Arms, which the IRA bombed in 1974. If it's still there, that should give you an approximate address for the barracks today and I would guess was the same in 1901. Also nearby is a hospital (was Queen Elizabeth Military Hosp until the late 1980s early 1990s, but is now civilian) Patsy |

hello jaqui, as far as I know the Royal Horse Artillery (a cavalry regiment) has been stationed at St Johns Wood Barracks NW8, (forever?) and the Royal Artillery ( a field corps) was and is stationed at Woolwich Barracks. I hope this clarifies the difference between two similiar named Army units. Have fun, derek |

Doe anyone know the name/address of the barracks of the Royal Horse Arillery Woolwich for the 1901 Census? I have tried all sorts of addresses and cannot find it under the "search address" search. I would be grateful for any help as I do not know anything about the armed forces, regiments, battalions etc. Any army buffs out there? Thanks in anticipation. Jacqui |
