Helen It seems to match. only thing according to the 1891 census, frederick was born in blackfriers , david was born in battersea, the ages match, so maybe the second names were mis-spelt. but it seems unusual for both of their names to be mis-spelt as they were in two different households!! maybe the person doing the census at the time was deaf or had a speach inpediment!! ( only joking!) elainexx

Elaine I think I've found your David on 1901 David NEWLEY 24 born Battersea living in Enfield with wife Emily aged 22. Not sure from above messages where your Frederick was born but there's also a Frederick Newley aged 33 born Bethnall Green living in Leyton with wife Minnie aged 31.

Elaine, Can you get someone to check the 1901 census locally? I have a printout taken from a library- held microfilm, which I paid for by contacting the library in what I knew was the right area. It shows a husband, wife and children but the wife is nowhere to be found on the index online. Maybe some of your family got left out too. Gwyneth

Hi Elaine I found one of my relatives who had left home by the 1901 census on the 1901 Online site. Fortunately she had not got married. I entered First Name, Surname, Gender and the place where she was born in Place Keywords. You will obviously know where your rellies were born if you have them on the 1881 census. If any of the girls have got married you will need to enter First Name, Gender, Age and Where Born. This will narrow it down if not give you a result. Hope this helps. Jeanette:-)
