THey cost £7 when you order them online and £8.50 if you order them over the fone or by post if you supply them with the GRO index and £11.50 if you dont. I dont know why this is though. U can get the GRO index from the 1837online site or free BMD(i think they are on the links page on here) |

Teresa You can also get the GRO ref at libraries and county record offices where that have the GRO indexes on microfiche. Cert's £7 at local register offices (the one local to the event) and also online at the GRO statistics site. You don't need the GRO ref at a local register office as theie indexes are not the same as the GRO ones. Our local office (Burton on Trent) also does a five year search at no extra cost. I don't know how many more do this but as long as you a vague idea they usually help. I prefer to use the local Reg office Margaret |

Thersa, Just a thought. If you have relatives or friends in the U.K. couldn't you get them to order and them send to you? If you are ordering 5 a month it would be quite a saving. Lynda |

Theresa Even if you don't have relatives in England you could give someone here the details and get them to post them on. I would be willing to do that for you if you wish. Lynne Sale CHS |
