I keep finding, when I go to the Hugh Wallis IGI Batch Numbers site, that I can't find the parish I need. When I find a place of birth on a census I try to find that, if that isn't there I look up which registration district its in and try that, but even so I am very often not able to find anything that even looks right. Does anyone else have this problem, and if so how do you get round it please? Jan. |

Jan Not all parishes have been covered by the IGI and some are very patchy to say the least. I would think that if the parish you are looking for isn't on the Hugh Wallis list then it hasn't been done. I can't find quite a few of mine Margaret |

Is the IGI an ongoing project, so that parishes which are missing now might appear in the future? Jan. |

Jan I'm afraid I can't answer that, it doesn't seem to be updated very often, but sometimes the vicar etc won't give permission for the records to be transcribed Margaret |
