I would just like to say that I have really enjoyed reading all these replies! of course, at some point in my tree I too have come across elusive rellies! and I vote we let our future researchers have the feeling that we do when we finally trace that ancestor that has been hiding somewhere and all of a sudden pops up out of the blue after months and months of searching, but on the other hand, I'm a rather cruel person!!! I'm going to continue the family trait. Mis spell my name, lie about my age, make up a totally mythical place of birth and add in a few extra children. |

Ok , I am going to spoil the party now. I may be wrong (can't really remember) , wasn't the census changed so that we fill in who normally resides at that address as opposed to who was staying there overnight. In the last census, we could fill it in ahead of the census date , so could not be sure who would be staying with you overnight. |

I too am a home bunny - so in the spirit of the evening, i promise to have my whole families names changed to 1,2 & 3, and promise to change my house name every 10 years to that years favourite house name - Dunroamin here we come! My descendants will then enjoy the challenge I have had - I don't want to make thing too easy for them! |

What a ripper Ann! I am a bit of a home bunny so I think I will stay put and rename all the kids, Christian, Christien, Christinne and Christiana. I might grab some rellies and call them Frederick, Frederik, Freiderick, Freiderik, Freideric, Fredric, Fredrick and Fredrik. They can all marry Marys, Christiannas, Christinas and Barbaras but all the wives need to swap around their fore and middle names regularly. We will then put German towns with names as long as your arms that no-one has ever heard of and can't be found anywhere, as our birth places. Some family members may be allowed to cross those towns out and put something unreadable. Roll on 2011!!! |

Descendants - I apologise now, but I can't do that. I'm sorry, I just can't bear the thought of 24 hours with my nearest and dearest. You're on your own, I'm afraid. |

I'd like to see the person with 5000 names find sleeping space for that lot! Jacky |

Make it easy for your descendants to trace their family tree. On the 31st of March 2011, invite all your family round to your house for an overnight party. Then fill out the Census form indicating the relationships. ;) |
