I cannot seem to find my gggf! He was alive in 1877 as he signed my ggf marriage certificate ... perhaps the shock was too much and he shuffled off his mortal coil! Could SKS please have a peek at an 1861 or even 1871 for: William SMITH (Oh stop groaning! lol) b 1858/59 Gamlingay, Cambridgeshire. His father was George Edward (well at least it isn't William!) and he was a groom by occupation. Residence of ggfather was given as St.Andrews Cambridge. He was a coach painter by trade and later a journeyman with the same. Unfortunately I have no mothers name, hence being at the inevitable besser block wall (Aussie equivilant for brick!!). Many thanks in advance Sonja |
