Wow, one of my ancestors was an Iron Foundry Worker in Glasgow in 1901, too. Just think, they could have been workmates. Not that this helps your search. I just thought I'd share it with you.

I know exactly wahat you're going through, half my ancestors are missing from the 1901 census, approx. 20 of them! I did read somewhere that certain counties census's weren't terrible complete and I know a lot of people just weren't 'caught up with'. I'm not sure what to suggest, but I wanted you to know I really empathise with what you're going through!!! Best wishes, Steph

i have been looking for my greatgrandad on the scottish census for months with no luck, i have tried all different varients of spelling still nothing. he married in glasgow had children in glasgow and died there also, cannot find them anywhere i know they had 2 children in 1901 ,and names of both but still nothing .a kind lady margaret who uses the site even looked for them while she was at the records office last week and found childrens births but no census records. my greatgrandfather was born in northern ireland and have applied for birth cert but have heard nothing from dublin gro.anybody any ideas why i cant find them on census, maybe should try english census( maybe moved through work)i am hitting my head of brick wall, hope this makes cense ,cheers jackie.
