Georgina What is classed as incredibly unusual? As a transcriber for FreeBMD, I never cease to be amazed at some of the names I see. An ancester - a male - on my husband's side had the name Flower - which I always thought was unusual for a man. But it's not - I've transcribed quite a few of them! I have a great grandmother named Hephzibar Hopkins on my mother's side, and my grandfather on my father's side was named Henry Alfred Garibaldi Bradshaw Frasi. Now THAT I would call unique! Surviving psychologically unscathed from playground wits inserting a "T" into my surname was hard but I can't imagine what life must have been like for these people I've found during the course of my search for other Farwells. I knew a couple with the surname HUNT who named their son Michael (no problem there I hear you say)....but they were stupid enough to shorten it to Mike!!!! Poor kid!!!
