Hi Lucy Would you be kind enough to look up Maria Charles age about 53 in 1891. She was born in East Dean, Gloucestershire. Her husband William and son Thomas were lodging in South Wales by this time as they went to look for work in the pits but I can't find Maria and the other children. They were Henry 23, Ann 21 (these 2 may not have lived at home) Samuel age 17, James age 13 and Hewbert age 8 months. The children were born in West Dean possibly Yorkley. Thanks. Kath |

Dear Lucy Thankyou so much for this information. I recently went to Glos record office looking for this and couldnt find it so this is great news. It also gives me a bit of extra info on William. He was a coal miner in 1881 and then classed as an invalid 10 years later...I wonder whether he had a pit accident. If you have time I'd be really grateful if you could look up Henry CHARLES age about 23 born in West Dean, Glos (possibly Yorkley or Oldcroft, Forest of Dean). He was the other brother. This would almost complete my census records for that CHARLES family. Thanks again Kath |
