Help to locate Ecclesiastical Parish - Nottingham

Anyone know of an ecclesiastical parish in Nottingham (and on the 1901 census) namely ST PHILIP? I have maps of Nottingham going back to 1841 and have scoured them for this parish and nowhere can I find this parish. Is it possible the enumerator made a mistake (unlikely I feel) or has anyone else found relatives who resided in this parish? The address I have for the family is Leather Street (which is not immediately apparent on the maps) and no doubt was pulled down years ago. I feel I need to pinpoint the address and parish to help make sure the family are the right ones. Any help would be appreciated, or ideas where I might find some info. thanks Jacqui

Jacqui, I have found a parish called 'Norton St Philip' which is in Somerset. Could it be a mis-transcription? Are you sure they were in Nottingham?, Marian

hello jaqueline. ive just done a search on genuki and there is a parish of st philips in sneiton. i just put st philips nottingham and there was quite a bit of info to look at

First port of call should be to check the Nottingham section of Genuki. You could also join the rootsweb genealogy list for Nottinghamshire. Tracy
